I recently had the opportunity to go to Summer camp as a chaperone during Sr week. I have to say, everytime I get around those kids, I am more and more impressed. They are so well behaved. They have such a good attitude and seem to really want to grow spiritually and to help others grow. The older teens really seem to take the younger ones in and befriend them. I think it is so neat that these kids hang out outside of church and are not just "church friends". I really enjoy being involved with the youth group. I learn just as much from these kids as I would hope they learn from me. They make me want to be a better example. So, in saying all of this, it must mean there are some pretty great parents and role models out there for these kids to follow. I mean, you just can't say enough good things about the love, devotion and role models that Howard and Tempee have given to these kids, and I have every confidence in JM and Lindsey to fill those shoes. I think, we as parents, are (or should be) there for all of these kids. It is our responsibility to see they become Christians and even though it is a big responsibilty and I may not always do my best, I am looking forward to trying. I love each of these kids; they keep me young.

I second your thoughts! I really enjoyed the way MCC does summer camp. It's real organized but at the same time there's no super busy schedule that you have to rush to keep up with... only great Christians to hang out with and plenty of time for outdoor games and walks and activities that really help you get to know everyone you worship with on Sundays. I really enjoyed hanging out with the teens and adults and getting to know everyone's name (before I got bopped on the leg with a paper whomping stick!). I already can't wait for next year! I love our group and it's an honor to be a minister to so many spiritually-based people.
